Job Summary

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader will be responsible for attending their assigned section of PHY 120 everytime that the course meets during winter 26. The SI Leader will also be responsible for planning and facilitating two 50 - minute weekly review sessions for the duration of winter 26.

Hours/Shifts Available: 8 - 10 hours per week for the duration of winter 26

Rate of Pay: $14.50/hr

Number of Positions available: 5 (hiring for sections 01 &- the same SI leader will be paired with sections 01 and 04)

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Attend your assigned section of PHY 120 every time the course meets.

  • Actively take notes and model positive student behaviors in the classroom while the Professor is teaching.

  • Plan and faciliate two weekly 50 - minute review sessions for the duration of the term.

  • Must complete all required training prior to the start of week 2. This may entail remote training.

  • Must meet with the Director of Student Success every other week and one weekly meeting with the Professor teaching your assigned section of the course.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed and earned an A/A- in PHY 120.

  • Must have completed 3 terms at Union.

  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at Union.
