Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time Social Media and Communications Specialist position (10-20 hours per week) for the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at Oregon State University.

This position supports departmental communications by promoting news events awards and research accomplishments through social media email marketing and the department website.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote department news events awards and research accomplishments through departmental social media platforms.

  • Update and maintain department website content.

  • Create flyers and posters and update digital monitor.

  • Assist with departmental special events as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: be academically enrolled in a high school community college or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
  • Required Qualifications
    • Experience coordinating social media accounts and creating digital content.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

    Working Conditions/Schedule:
    Office Environment. Position may be hybrid working in the office and from a remote location. May require attending events in person on evenings and weekends.
