NCRF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational enhancement organization well known for hosting The Black College Expo in seventeen different cities across the United States as well as a variety of other programs geared toward inspiring a positive impact. Our mission is to curtail the high school dropout rate and increase degree and/or certificate enrollment among underserved underrepresented at risk low resource homeless and foster vision is to close the gap in educational achievement workforce and economic the Role- We are The Movement!Under the National College Resources Foundation Peer Advisors within The Movement Enrichment Program (TMEP) work with elementary middle and high school students to improve their academic performance while guiding them towards positive post-secondary pursuits. What sets this program apart from most other educational initiatives is what we call comprehensive intervention which includes most notably onsite and holistic in-class support for students. This approach includes but is not limited to mentoring academic tutoring socioemotional support and college and career :Academic Support (40%) Provide personalized academic advising in subjects such as Algebra Geometry Biology Chemistry and English. Adapt instruction to each students learning style and & Behavioral Support (40%) Promote positive classroom behavior and help students develop life and coping skills for success beyond Tracking (10%) Maintain accurate weekly records of student interactions and Development & Facilitation (5%) Design and lead engaging workshops that build cultural awareness professional skills and community & Career Planning (5%) Guide students through exploring postsecondary options including college trade schools employment and QualificationsPassion for working with underserved and underrepresented student pursuing or holding a degree (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5).Ability to:work both independently and good judgment and work set priorities and meet deadlines under interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse across high school level academic transportation and internet successfully complete all required background checks (TB State/FBI).Proactive and goal-oriented in Google QualificationsBilingual in English and or more years of relevant experience in education youth development or a related paid vacation Company Observed Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Schedule & CompensationHours: 35-40 hours per weekSchedule: Monday through Friday between 8:00a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Based on school district specific academic calendar)Pay: $18$20 per hour depending on experienceAt NCRF:We value long term commitment of at least one school year because it allows both you and us to see the true impact of your mentorship.
