Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing academicand technological support and facilitates academic success and completion forHigh Tech Academy High Scholars. Serves as liaison and connects students topersonal academic and career support services. Conducts individual and groupprogram-engagement sessions. Collaborates with faculty staff and counselors to
ensure optimumstudent support.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Serves as liaison and connects students to personal academic and career support services
- Provides support to the High Tech Academy Digital Literacy Program
- Assists in selecting and identifying new student participants as assigned
- Monitors participants academic progress and refers to counseling department as needed
- Assists students with completing financial aid and scholarship applications writing essays/papers connecting to academic support and informs students of program offerings
- Conducts individual and group program-engagement sessions
- May conduct outreach to provide student progress reports
- Ensures students develop applicable technological and professional knowledge and skills
- Facilitates supplemental skill-building concepts for students enrolled in high-risk courses
- Meets regularly with staff for participant and program evaluations
- Works collaboratively with the Counseling department to ensure deliberate and attentive student referrals when needed
- Meets with faculty regarding student progress and course content/materials as needed
- May attend College-wide meetings workshops and conferences as directed
- Assists with metric tracking and report preparation
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelors Degree in a related field
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience advising counseling and/or teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level
- Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGESKILLS and ABILITIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of student support concepts practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of virtual classroom learning
- Possess excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills

- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word and PowerPoint

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

- Masters Degree in a related field
- Demonstrated experience with Banner or other student information systems learning management systems (Blackboard Brightspace etc.) and other College-specific software
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

- The work is performed in a normal professional office environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted heated and ventilated;
- Typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers files pamphlets books etc.;
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Target Starting Salary Range: $45000 to $50000
The final offer for the successful candidateis targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment ofinternal equity the units available budget and the candidatesqualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred jobrequirement(s).
Special Note:If hired you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
