About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Specialist position focuses on the developmental support of a portfolio of university-recognized student organizations.This includesfrequentlyassessing the needs of student leaders and developing plans for the enhancement and expansion of student group resources and training in addition to administrative program management responsibilities. The Specialistis responsible forworking closely with student leaders campus partners and student-driven committees to provide signature programming for the University.The Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Student Engagement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidatemust have excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal organizational verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge and skillsfor this position are typicallyacquiredthrough the completion of aBachelorsdegree;Mastersdegree in College Student Development or related field preferred with comparable consideration for years of service.

Frequent nights and weekends area mustto ensure the success of divisional initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) University Recognized Signature Events

  • Provide developmental and strategic support to organizations planning programming for the University community.

  • Engage with student leaders to navigate the administrative and logistical needs for programs such as Relay for LifeFall Fest Spring Fest and Homecoming.

  • Budget managementrelatedto signature events.

  • Attendevents asto ensure success.

  • Planning large scale programming for our undergraduate and graduate student populations.

2) Student Organization Program Management and Advisement

  • Provide event planning support to student organizations.

  • Meet with students and student organizations to develop a vision andbudgetsfor their events.

  • Inform students of policies andhelp coordinatetheir programs.

  • Communicate effectively with performers vendors agents andmiddle agents.

  • Edit and developcontracts for various performers venues and vendors.

  • Attends events as necessary to ensure success.

3) Other Duties

  • Facilitate CSI student leadership development opportunities.

  • Coordinate assessment tools and instillassessmentculture among student organizations.

  • RepresentCSI on various division-wide committees.

  • Perform otherduties asassigned thatare necessary for team success.
