Job Summary

Job Title:	Student Technical Theater Assistant
Department:	College of Arts & Sciences
Student Employment Type:	Federal Work Study
Responsibilities:	Assist with theater maintenance and preparation for events held in the Black Box Theater Under the supervision of the Theater Technical Director: Hang and focus lighting equipment Build move and install scenic elements and other performance equipment Paint scenery and props Use sewing machine to build or mend costumes Care for costumes including washing drying ironing steaming and other care methods Cleaning and maintenance of theater space and equipment Equipment organization and storage Event setup and strike Maintain a safe workplace through proper workwear including sturdy closed-toe shoes durable pants hair securely fashioned and PPE as directed by the Technical Director
Qualifications:	Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Ability to climb and work on ladders Ability to work at height Willingness to learn about and safely operate tools and equipment
Hours of Position:	Flexible work hours depending on event needs (0-15 hours/week) Available hours will be Thursdays and Fridays 9am-5pm weekends as needed Monday-Wednesday as needed.
