Job Summary

Augustana University invites applications for a Student Employment and Human Resources Coordinator. This position serves as a key member of the Human Resources team by coordinating the universitys student employment program while supporting a broad range of HR operations. The coordinator serves as a primary resource for employees supervisors and student workers ensuring efficient compliant and customer-focused employment processes from hire through separation.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate the universitys student employment program serving as the primary resource for supervisors and student employees.
  • Manage high-volume student and employee onboarding employment documentation I-9 compliance background checks and personnel records.
  • Maintain HRIS data employment records employee portals and HR reporting while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Respond to employee supervisor retiree and student inquiries regarding HR policies procedures and employment processes.
  • Partner with Payroll Financial Aid and campus departments to support employment transactions and student employment operations.
  • Assist with recruitment activities applicant tracking employment changes benefits administration and payroll-related processes.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and recognition programs onboarding activities HR communications and departmental events.
  • Support compliance initiatives file audits process improvements and special projects that enhance HR operations and the employee experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience in an administrative human resources accounting or related office environment.
  • Excellent organizational customer service communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn HR information systems and technology.
  • Experience in higher education or the nonprofit sector is preferred.
