Job Description Summary
The Student Employment Ambassador serves as a representative of Chapman Universitys Community Service Federal Work-Study Program. This role focuses on building relationships with nonprofit organizations schools and community partners to expand meaningful employment opportunities for Chapman students. The ideal candidate is passionate about community service enjoys connecting with people and is excited about helping students make a positive impact through off-campus Federal Work-Study employment.
Responsibilities
Serve as an ambassador for Chapman Universitys Community Service Federal Work-Study Program. Build and maintain positive relationships with nonprofit organizations schools and community partners. Conduct outreach through phone calls email text and virtual meetings to establish and strengthen community partnerships. Research prospective organizations and maintain accurate records in departmental databases. Coordinate with Chapman Student Employment staff community partners hiring managers and student applicants throughout the hiring process. Assist with developing job descriptions interview questions recruitment materials and student resources. Respond to student questions regarding Community Service Federal Work-Study opportunities and application processes. Promote available positions through marketing outreach and social media initiatives. Communicate the benefits of the Community Service Federal Work-Study Program to students and community organizations. Assist with hosting informational sessions career fairs and outreach events when needed. Track communications and follow up regularly with community partners students and hiring managers. Support special projects and administrative functions within Student Employment as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Federal Work-Study eligible. Passion for community service civic engagement and supporting student success. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable initiating conversations through phone calls email and other communication methods. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Ability to professionally represent Chapman University and the Student Employment Office. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects deadlines and follow-up activities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Teams Word and Excel. Ability to learn new software systems and processes. Ability to handle confidential information professionally and responsibly. Positive attitude strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
