Job Description:

Function of Position:

This position will assist in the scanning and documenting of all college drawings and digitize accordingly. There will be times when the drawings need repair before scanning. The student hired will assist in the repair and scanning of the documents. For students who are enrolled in a degree program in construction management or civil engineering he or she will have an opportunity to visit current construction sites on campus as a learning opportunity.

This position is funded exclusively through Federal Work Study (FWS). Applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office for FWS eligibility prior to being considered for employment. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Repair drawings.
  • Scan historical documents.
  • Digitize all documents in building folders.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing
  • Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled students in a degree program in construction management or civil engineering
  • Bilingual and able to read write and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently
Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours/week

Semester Hiring: Fall
