Student Assistance Counselor

The North Plainfield School District a culturally diverse Pre-Kï½12 district serving approximately 3700 students in Somerset County is seeking a dynamic and innovative Student Assistance Counselor for North Plainfield High School.

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate
• Substance Awareness Coordinator Endorsement required
• Knowledge of substance abuse counseling curriculum development and staff training
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling and intervention services for students with substance abuse concerns
• Coordinate referrals aftercare plans and prevention programs
• Collaborate with families staff treatment providers and community agencies
• Support staff development and substance awareness training
• Assist with policy review prevention initiatives and community outreach
• Perform other duties as assigned within certification scope

Salary:
$69630 (minimum) to $103470 (maximum) commensurate with experience
