Job Description Summary
Serve as a Student Administrative/Office Assistant and Keck Center Tour Guide for Schmid College by welcoming prospective students and families leading guided tours of the Keck Center and providing information about academic programs and student life. Represent Schmid College in a professional and engaging manner while delivering tours answering questions and supporting recruitment efforts. Assist with administrative tasks event support and occasional training of new tour guides while developing skills in public speaking customer service and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Greeting families leading tours through all three floors of the Keck Center Answering questions pertaining to academics and student life at Schmid College The Keck Center Tour Guide will be expected to memorize and adhere to a script The Keck Center Tour Guide will typically lead tours solo and or with partner May occasionally help to train new tour guides The Keck Center Tour Guide will be trained and mentored to gain knowledge about Schmid College and develop skills in public speaking customer service and problem solving. Aids with administrative duties and event support as needed. Will interact positively with prospective students and families.
Required Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with prospective students families faculty staff and visitors. Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills. Ability to learn memorize and accurately present tour information and scripted content. Dependable professional and able to represent Schmid College in a positive manner. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other tour guides and staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to assist with administrative tasks and event support activities. Comfortable leading walking tours and engaging with groups of varying sizes.
