This recruitment will be used to fill a one part-time (a maximum of 24 hrs per week) positions at Oregon State University Cascades (OSU-Cascades). This position is located in Bend OR. Disability Access Services (DAS) facilitates access to University programs and services for qualified students with disabilities through accommodations education consultation and advocacy. DAS supports students through various transition experiences within OSU supports students learning self-empowerment and ultimately graduation.
Position Duties
Work one-on-one with students as a scribe or reader in class or Testing Center
Lifting and/or physical manipulation of lab materials or objects
Describing visual materials or surroundings
Voicing for a student (typically by reading from a computer screen)
Attending field trips with student to provide access to environment

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Required Qualifications
Available Fall Term: Mondays 10:00am- 12:00pm & Wednesdays 10:00am- 2:00pm with opportunities for more hours
Effective oral/written communication
Legible handwriting for scribing and ability to take lecture notes
Ability to follow directions
Ability to maintain a dependable work schedule
Ability to maintain confidentiality
