Summary:
Develops integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develops maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3D Computer Aided Design tools.
Leads performance integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Manages supplier development test and production activities and coordinates with supplier to optimize design and achieve program goals.
Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs.
Provides engineering support and project leadership within a production system.
Engages directly with aerospace suppliers or airlines for design and production integration.
Validates and demonstrates compliance to regulatory requirements and works with regulators.
Applies Design for Manufacturing principles to interior payload systems and components.
Applies knowledge of aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design integration and certification.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with focus on Mechanical Civil Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences.
9 years of experience in engineering including design integration and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
Experience in aerospace interiors materials and properties design criteria and release processes.
Experience in program or project management including development and execution of schedule milestones financial assessments resource assessments and risk or issues management.
Experience leading a cross-functional team.
Experience with BFE Monuments Lighting Lavatories Galleys Certification Configuration and Production Integration processes and tools.
Experience with Design for Manufacturing and aircraft cargo compartment and handling systems.
Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences.
