This position provides day-to-day field leadership to ensure structural work is completed safely efficiently on schedule and in accordance with project plans specifications quality standards and company Structural Foreman works closely with Superintendents Project Engineers Safety personnel Quality personnel and other field supervisors to coordinate labor equipment materials and work Duties and ResponsibilitiesField SupervisionLead supervise and coordinate daily activities of structural construction and assign work to employees based on project priorities and production daily work expectations production goals and safety requirements to the employee performance productivity attendance and work crews have the necessary tools equipment materials and information to perform assigned work activities with other trades and construction crews to minimize delays and ConstructionSupervise structural concrete and related construction activities including bridge and roadway structures; concrete foundations and footings; columns piers and caps; abutments and retaining walls; cast-in-place concrete structures; formwork and falsework; reinforcing steel/rebar installation; concrete placement finishing and curing; and structural demolition and rehabilitation as and interpret construction drawings plans specifications and layout dimensions elevations grades and structural components before construction activities work is performed according to approved plans specifications and applicable construction and maintain a strong safety culture within the or participate in daily pre-task planning and safety potential hazards and take appropriate corrective action before work employees properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).Enforce company safety policies project-specific safety requirements and applicable OSHA report accidents injuries near misses unsafe conditions and property safe access housekeeping and work areas throughout the work throughout construction to ensure compliance with project drawings specifications and quality with Quality Control personnel regarding inspections and and correct deficiencies before work progresses to the next proper placement of reinforcing steel embeds anchor bolts forms and other structural components before concrete with concrete placement activities and verify that proper procedures are rework through effective planning communication and and ProductionReview upcoming work with the Superintendent and other project in developing daily and weekly work crew productivity and progress against project schedules and production potential schedule manpower material or equipment issues and communicate them to the delivery and staging of materials and accurate daily records of manpower equipment quantities and work management with forecasting labor and equipment and Employee DevelopmentProvide leadership direction coaching and training to craft teamwork professionalism accountability and respectful workplace employees on proper construction methods equipment use safety procedures and quality performance or conduct concerns promptly and communicate significant issues to the Superintendent and Human Resources as identify employees with the skills and potential for increased responsibilities and and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED of 5 years of heavy civil or structural construction experience experience as a Foreman Lead Person or similar field leadership position experience with structural concrete highway transportation or major infrastructure construction experience strongly and SkillsStrong knowledge of structural concrete construction methods and of formwork reinforcing steel concrete placement foundations walls columns piers and related structural to read and interpret construction drawings specifications and to understand grades elevations dimensions and basic construction knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA leadership and crew-management verbal and written communication to plan work solve field problems and make timely to coordinate multiple work activities in a fast-paced construction understanding of production tracking labor utilization and construction and CertificationsValid drivers license may be 10 or OSHA 30 certification Aid/CPR certification project-specific certifications may be RequirementsThe employee must be able to:Work outdoors in varying weather and environmental stand walk climb bend stoop kneel and uneven terrain ladders scaffolding and active construction and carry materials tools or equipment consistent with job around heavy equipment construction vehicles concrete operations and elevated work required personal protective extended hours nights weekends or varying shifts when required by project EnvironmentThis position is primarily field-based and is performed on active heavy civil construction projects.
