Structural Engineer in Training

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer in Training with at least three years of professional experience to join our growing team in Sacramento CA. You will design analyze and oversee structural systems for a diverse range of commercial residential and infrastructure projects. Working closely with architects contractors and project managers you will deliver safe efficient and code-compliant structural solutions that clients can count on.

Perform structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies
Develop detailed structural drawings specifications and technical documentation in compliance with applicable building codes and standards
Conduct site assessments and evaluations to identify structural requirements and potential challenges
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects MEP engineers and contractors to ensure project coordination and successful execution
Review and evaluate construction documents shop drawings and submittals for structural compliance
Provide technical support during construction administration and resolve on-site structural issues
Optimize structural designs for cost-effectiveness sustainability and constructability
Keep project files and documentation organized and audit-ready
Keep pace with evolving building codes industry standards and best practices and bring that knowledge into your daily work
Present technical findings and recommendations clearly to clients team members and stakeholders
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Masters degree preferred
EIT certification required
PE certification obtained or actively in progress
At least threeyears of relevant full-time experience in structural engineering design
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit ETABS SAP2000)
Solid understanding of structural engineering principles mechanics and materials
Knowledge of building codes standards and construction practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear project documentation and collaboration
Comfortable owning your work independently while actively engaging as a collaborative team member
Additional Information :
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role includes regular desk work and occasional site visits which may involve climbing ladders navigating uneven terrain and light lifting (up to 15 lbs).

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive with a range of$75000 - $100000 determined by experience education and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
