Structural Engineer

Job Summary:We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join the capital projects engineering team at AdvanSix. This role involves providing structural engineering support for all phases of capital projects at chemical plants: initial planning and scoping detailed engineering and design and and Responsibilities:Structural engineering and design for steel structures equipment supports (pumps pressure vessels heat exchangers etc.) pipe supports pipe racks concrete foundations for tanks / equipment equipment pads analysis of existing structures and foundations underground piping conceptual layouts preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimating during project scopingProducing calculations designs specifications scopes of work engineering packages sketches/drawings for procurement bidding and constructionReviewing and checking vendor drawings and other disciplines drawings for structural inputPerforming fieldwork to gather field data check tie-ins inspect / verify existing conditions provide construction support provide repair recommendations assistance and direction to the design team to produce drawings suitable for bidding and construction purposesReviewing fabrication drawings requests for information (RFI) and other construction submittals for conformance with engineering drawings requirements and specificationsStructural engineering and design for repair and rehabilitation of existing steel and concrete structures (pipe supports vessel foundations equipment supports etc.)Some travel (10%) to other AdvanSix sites in Alabama Pennsylvania and within Virginia may be necessaryRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineeringProfessional Engineer (P.E.)
