Location: Chula Vista CA

We are seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer who will perform structural analysis in support of thermosets thermoplastics composites metallic nacelles and aerostructure components using standard analysis methods and finite element approaches. You will conduct design trades and final product configuration definitions considering safety strength weight cost & producibility for Commercial applications. You will also generate and present reports suitable for transmittal to an airworthiness authority internal/external customers (such as Boeing Airbus Embraer and Military). In addition you will collaborate with both domestic and international engineering support teams on technical aspects of the stress analysis activities.

Responsibilities
Responsible for performing structural analysis of aircraft components assemblies and systems while working as an integrated team for design studies.
Solve challenging structural analysis problems via research and coordination with subject matter experts/chief engineers
Structural analysis includes development of finite element models and loads and performing static fatigue and vibrations analysis
Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft structures by way of classical hand analysis and finite element methods.
Generate documentation to report analysis and test results to support airworthiness certification
Supports operation of equipment engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
Experience with structural analysis (classical hand analysis and finite element skills)
Structural load paths experience
NASTRAN or equivalent softwares highly desired.
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software experience
Experience communicating and presenting technical information to senior level leadership

Preferred Qualifications
Degrees preferred: Mechanical Aerospace Civil Structural or similar
Experience with any aircraft or space vehicle structures
General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
Experience working with international teams
Background in composite material structure and design
