The Strategic Medicaid Proposal Writer will play a critical role in strengthening Mercers pursuit readiness improving the quality and consistency of proposal content and increasing the efficiency of our sales and proposal teams. This role will focus on pre-RFP planning and prewriting activities including tailoring strategic compliant and client-centered content for future RFPs RFIs RFQs and scope expansion opportunities. The writer will continuously build knowledge of GHSC our services clients and industry best practices to develop thoughtful content that reflects Mercers differentiation innovation and value for specific clients and opportunities. This proposal writer will build strong working relationships with GHSC client managers proposal peers solution consultants subject matter experts (SMEs) and the content manager to support business goals to win expand and retain business.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the content manager in developing and refining reusable content that can be tailored for future proposals
  • Partner with business and client leaders proposal peers and SMEs to understand client needs identify content needs outline key messages and prepare draft responses in advance of active procurements
  • Translate broad reusable content into customized client-relevant messaging that reflects Mercers value proposition differentiation and strategic positioning
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to strengthen content with client-specific insights market context and solution-oriented messaging
  • Support pre-RFP planning activities including pursuit strategy discussions content planning message development and readiness reviews
  • Develop content that aligns with internal quality standards brand style tone and commonly used industry and client terminology
  • When needed support active proposal efforts by adapting prewritten content into compliant and compelling final responses

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Five plus years of experience in proposal writing strategic writing business writing or related content development
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and keen attention to detail

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one anchor day per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $111500 to $223000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience skills training location certifications education and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case addition to the base salary this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
