Marketing Specialist, Commercial Lines

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer and/or Marketing Director the MarketingSpecialist is responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies inaccordance with the practices policies and procedures of the Company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through theacquisition of new business and the retention of renewals.

• Assist in the analysis of line of business and insurance company production trends andmake recommendations to correct deficiencies.

• Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments within HUBfor the quoting of specialized lines of coverage.

• Assist producers with pre-underwriting information gathering submission coverageanalysis RFPs and proposal presentations if needed

• Execute a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring

• coverage condition rating and pricing accuracy.

• Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a patternof professional risk submissions company visitations and hard but fair negotiations.

• Maintain state of the art knowledge of market underwriting appetite line of businesstrends insurance company changes rating technique and coverage development.

• Demonstrate an understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriaterisk submissions.

• Accurately maintain new business and renewal control logs which assist thedepartment head in identifying trends.

• Performs other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma / GED

• 3-5 years insurance marketing /underwriting experience or equivalent combination ofeducation & experience

• Property & Causality License

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internaland external customers.

• Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.

• Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Outlook and agencymanagement systems.

• Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths andweaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.

• Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.

• Ability to respond to customer needs solicit customer feedback to improve serviceand handle difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and accurately.

• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships; work effectively withinsurance and service vendors to gain cooperation in meeting clients needs.

• Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills andabilities.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissionsproportions percentages.

• Ability to ready analyze and interpret general business periodicals professionaljournals technical procedures or governmental regulations.

• Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in order tocomplete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy.

• Ability to assertively direct and supervise staff; including but not limited toresponsiveness to staff needs and personnel issues and provide consistent/fairevaluation.

• Ability to efficiently gather pertinent information and facts analyze and solveproblems timely and thoroughly.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.

• The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator copy machine and computer printer.

• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets office machinery etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $110000 - $130000k depending on geographical location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
