Kewaunee Fabrications an Oshkosh Corporation company is hiring a mechanically inclined Straightening Mechanic for 2nd this hands-on role you will use specialized tools heat straightening techniques and hydraulic equipment to bring large weldments and fabricated components into blueprint tolerance. Starting Rate: $26.75/hr
Shift Premium: $1.00/hour for 2nd & 3rd shifts
Wage Progression: Increases every 6 months until top pay then annually

2nd Shift: Monday Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Includes a paid lunch
Always-available completely voluntary overtime before or after your shift

• Straighten fabricated components and weldments to blueprint specifications for flatness alignment and parallelism
• Use precision measuring tools including squares straight edges levels micrometers transits rulers and plumb bobs
• Operate heating and cutting torches to heat-shrink assemblies into tolerance
• Determine proper straightening methods using jacks shims braces and hydraulic presses
• Operate hydraulic straightening equipment safely and effectively
• Move handle and position materials throughout the fabrication process

• Complete required paperwork labor reporting and material tracking
• Work safely and maintain a clean organized work environment
• Perform self-inspections and support quality standards
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Assist with training and support team members as needed
• Support additional fabrication tasks as assigned

• Previous metal fabrication and/or welding experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds (lifting devices available)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) to five (5) years of metal fabrication or welding experience
• Advanced blueprint reading and measurement skills
