ICE MUSL TOSH Sterile Processing Staff

The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision assignments and daily operations enforcing standards of practice and policies and procedures within the Sterile Services Department. Assist the educator with new employee orientation competency review instrument evaluation and tray standardization. Communicates routinely with leadership in areas serviced and troubleshoots daily activity to provide efficient quality customer service. This position must plan evaluate and prioritize workflow without specific instructions assign work give specific instructions based on policy/procedure clinical activity patient census and direction from department manager. This position will work at The Orthopedic and Spine Hospital (TOSH).

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GEDPlus Four (4) years of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technical experience to include two (2) years of supervisory/leadership experience.

• Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST)

• IAHCSMM/CBSPD Certified required after 1 year.

• Ability to Follow Oral Instructions Read and Write.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree

• Professional License/Certification: IAHCSMM/CBSPD Certified

• Sterile Processing Experience

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Supervises the collection of contaminated instruments and equipment for sorting and decontamination.

• Prepares and delivers all necessary equipment and instruments as directed.

• Manages staff to ensure the proper procedures are observed during the preparation and sterilization of instruments and equipment.

• Performs equipment maintenance in accordance with policies and regulations.

• Maintains proper storage of instrumentation and equipment.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
