Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week
Schedule: Rotating based on unit needs overnights possible
The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for the safe and effective reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices including decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements to support patient safety and clinical operations. The technician maintains accurate documentation for traceability participates in quality assurance initiatives and engages in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and organizational policies.

Responsibilities
Essential functions are the duties and responsibilities that are essential to the position include:
- Cleans decontaminatesassemblesor packages disinfects or sterilizes reusable equipment and medical supplies
- Picks up supplies and equipment from patient care areas.
- Checksassemblesand prepares instrument sets and orders linen according to written procedures.
- Prepares loadsmonitorsanddisinfectssterilizers for operation.
- Prepares and uses testing monitors which clarify sterility and equipment performance.
- Prepares loads and monitorsSteradmachine for operation.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform all duties required of a sterile processing techin accordance withestablished policies and procedures.
- Turns over rooms in the surgical area.
- Transports patients to and from the Operating room.
- Terminal cleans restocks and checksoutdates in the operating suite/processing sterile and decontamination units
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent .
Experience:
- None.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Must be BCLS certified upon hire or within 90 days of hire .
