A Brief Overview
Performs decontamination and sterilization procedures according to Infection Control and QA guidelines. Provides the physicians OR staff and nurses with products safe for patient use on a routine basis or as emergency needs demand.
What you will do
- Performs decontamination assembly and sterilization according to Infection Control and established QA monitoring guidelines as demonstrated by annual competency review.
- Operates sterilization equipment which includes: steam ETO and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers ultrasonic cleaner washer/sterilizer and automated cart washer.
- Operates equipment according to manufacturer operational directions and in a manner that ensures the safety of the operator as demonstrated by annual competency review.
- Utilizes computer to access information; communication with manager supervisors and co-workers.
- Reports broken and malfunctioning instruments and equipment to the supervisor or manager.
- Utilizes desktop and laptop computers and handheld PDA for instrument decontamination assembly and tracking functions.
- Answers phones and meets customers needs in a professional manner.

Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent
