Sterile Processing Technician III

Position Summary

As a Sterile Processing Technician for STERISyoullwork behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in afast-paced environmentimpactingpatient safety without being patient in the Sterile Processing Department you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean sterile organized and available for the surgical will use your skills and knowledge to perform scheduled and unscheduled tasksindependently and in compliance with the Department of Health TJC DNV OSHA CDC AAMI and AORN standards.

This is an onsite role based in Durham NC supporting afternoon shift 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday.

What youll do as a Sterile Processing Technician III:

• • Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated cleaned inspected sterilized correctly assembled withina timelymanner and ready for the next case.

  • Operates all mechanical machinery within the department such as but not limited to cart washers instrument washers steam sterilizers lowtempsterilizers ultrasonic and drying cabinets within sterile processing.

  • Usesthe implemented Track & Trace systemestablishedwithin the sterile processing department for all tasks and products processed.

  • Able to perform assembly on advanced instrument and vendor trays aligned with IP quality and production standards.

  • Participate in regular on-site training

The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed:

• Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2 years of SPD experience withdemonstratedproficiencyin all SPD Technician responsibilities includinga solidproficiencyand ability to work independently with all tray sets.

  • CRCST/ CSPDT CST or CER/CFERCST certification isrequired. Must also obtain CIS/CSIS CHL/CSPM or STERIS Assessment certification within 12 months of hire.

  • Mustmaintaincertification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours annually

  Preferred:

  • Completion of a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist program
