Job Summary

Job Description Summary

Under general supervision of the department manager the Certified SPD supervisor coordinates and manages the daily activities and operational needs of the department. This position assists the Manager with the overall direction leadership and supervision of the staff. This role performs instrument production case assembly sterile processing decontamination of surgical instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures state local and federal requirements. This position serves as SPD liaison with other departments. The Certified SPD Supervisor monitors and participates in quality initiatives and assists with accomplishing organizational and department goals/objectives. Supervisors may have supervisory responsibilities at Main Rutledge Tower and/or ART Sterile Processing Departments.

Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
