Short Description:

Works as professional staff within the Department of Child Services Central Eligibility Unit performing multiple Social Security Unit tasks

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

It may require interaction with Family Case Managers supervisors and Local Office Directors to request and clarify information when making determinations.

Submit SSI applications

- Submit CDR applications

- Submit Recon applications

- Data entry on social security forms

- Complete social security accounting reports

- Scan social security mail

- Customer service calls to SSA and DDB to relay basic placement information

- Email template SSI referral requests to FCMs and forward received referrals to supervisor

- Manage SSI referral follow ups sending emails for unreceived requests

- Mail school and medical records requests for hearings

- Manage follow-ups for hearings records requests

- Submit SSN email requests to SSA

- Post-refund case research for additional benefit checks received in error

- Respond in writing to SSA address and check notices

- Monthly check audits to look for SSA payment coding errors

- Mail outgoing social security correspondence

- Social security overpayment notice review for accuracy

Prior experience in a position with strong data entry skills.
