Job Overview

Tekberry is seeking a highly organized and technically capable Technical Project Administrator to support a major capacity expansion project within an Optical Fiber Cable manufacturing operation. This role provides critical administrative project coordination safety documentation and technical support to ensure projects are executed safely efficiently and on schedule.

The Technical Project Administrator will serve as a key liaison between project managers engineering teams operations contractors suppliers and leadership while also providing hands-on support for equipment installations troubleshooting activities and manufacturing readiness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Administration & Coordination

Support Project Managers and project teams with daily administrative and project coordination activities
Manage project schedules deadlines calendars and milestone tracking
Organize and schedule meetings including agenda preparation meeting logistics and meeting minutes
Facilitate communication between project teams departments contractors suppliers and stakeholders
Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and communications
Coordinate resources and ensure project teams have the tools and support needed to meet project objectives

Safety & Contractor Support

Support project safety initiatives and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
Manage contractor safety documentation and paperwork
Coordinate and maintain Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) documentation and project notebooks for each production line
Promote adherence to company safety policies and procedures
Identify and escalate safety concerns as needed

Technical & Manufacturing Support

Provide on-floor support for equipment installation startup troubleshooting and project execution activities
Support manufacturing and engineering teams with operational and project-related needs
Coordinate movement of equipment materials and spare parts between manufacturing facilities
Assist with production line conversions equipment builds and capacity expansion activities
Support troubleshooting efforts and operational readiness initiatives

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation including:

  • Project plans
  • Schedules
  • Budgets
  • Contracts
  • Status reports
  • Installation documentation
    Track project milestones and key deliverables to ensure timelines are met
    Prepare regular project status reports for leadership and stakeholders
    Maintain organized and audit-ready project records

Budget & Resource Management

Monitor project budgets and expenses to support cost control initiatives
Process and track:

  • Purchase Orders
  • Invoices
  • Equipment requests
  • Project-related expenditures
    Support inventory tracking and material management activities
    Coordinate equipment tooling and project-related ordering needs

Risk Management & Compliance

Identify project risks issues and potential roadblocks and communicate them to project leadership
Support implementation of contingency plans and corrective actions
Ensure project activities comply with company policies safety standards and industry requirements
Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Chemical Engineering or related technical field
Proven experience supporting projects project coordination or technical administrative functions
Strong organizational planning and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • OneNote
    Experience using project management software such as:
  • Microsoft Project
  • Trello
  • Asana
  • Similar project management platforms
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
    Self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability
    Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration Project Management or related field
CAPM PMP or other Project Management certification
Experience supporting manufacturing engineering or industrial projects
Experience within the Optical Fiber Cable industry
Experience using data analysis software such as:

  • JMP
  • Minitab
    OSHA Safety Certification
    Experience supporting equipment installations manufacturing startups or capacity expansion projects

Work Environment

This position supports a large-scale manufacturing expansion project and includes both office-based and manufacturing floor responsibilities. The environment may include:

Active manufacturing and engineering project areas
Frequent interaction with engineers operations teams contractors suppliers and leadership
Cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environments requiring adherence to specific procedures
Fast-paced project environment requiring flexibility organization and multitasking
Occasional travel between facilities as project needs require

The role requires frequent movement between office and manufacturing areas while supporting project execution and equipment installation activities.
