Why This Role

We are a small engineering team and are hiring aStaff Software Engineerto be aforce multipliersomeone who can materially raise technical standards improve delivery momentum and lead complex engineering efforts through handson execution and influence.

This is aStafflevel individual contributor role: no people management but significant ownership architectural responsibility and team impact.

What Youll Do

• Own thearchitecture and deliveryof highperformance backend services and REST APIs (Java) from design through production.
• Design build and optimizedataintensive systems including Spark workloads and performance tuning.
• Delivercloudnative solutionsacross AWS Azure and GCP integrating with platforms such as Databricks.
• Raise the engineering bar by leading design reviews improving code quality and operational practices and mentoring other engineers.
• UseAIassisted engineering tools(e.g. coding copilots test generation refactoring design exploration) to increase speed and qualityand help establish team norms for responsible effective use.

What Were Looking For

• Proven experience building and operatingproduction distributed systems.
• Strong backend expertise inJavaand datadriven services at scale.
• Handson experience withApache Sparkand modern data tooling (Hadoop/Hive exposure a plus).
• Solid cloud experience (AWS Azure or GCP) and modern platform tooling (Kubernetes Docker; Airflow or equivalents).
• DemonstratedStafflevel behaviors: strong technical judgment crossteam influence and the ability to level up others through mentorship and standards.
