Position Summary

Join the Digital Workflow Solutions business as a Staff Software Engineer. You will be responsible for defining and driving the architecture design and delivery of enterprise software solutions that support Digital Workflow Solutions products and services. You will partner with Product Management Architecture Verification and Operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable secure and reliable software solutions for STERIS Customers. The Staff Software Engineer will work independently on complex technical problems contribute to solution architecture design and technical decision-making and provide mentoring and guidance to other engineers. You will support modernization initiatives cloud technologies and continuous improvement of software quality security scalability performance and operational reliability.SPM Workflow Solution and Surgical Asset Tracking Software STERIS

This is position reports into a Software Product Development team not IT. Experience developing Customer facing software used by Corporations is required.

** This is a remote role. Qualified candidates must currently live in the Continental U.S. living in Eastern or Central Time zones.

What Youll Do as a Staff Software Engineer
  • Own end-to-end architecture for full stack cloud-native applications using C# .NET and Microsoft Azure.
  • Define and evolve reference architectures design patterns and coding standards adopted across teams.
  • Design and develop backend services APIs and data models using Core and cloud-native patterns.
  • Guide development of modern front-end applications using contemporary web frameworks.
  • Lead cloud architecture and deployment strategies leveraging Azure services such as App Services Azure Functions AKS and managed data platforms.
  • Partner with product quality and security teams to ensure cohesive system-level designs.
  • Lead architectural and design reviews identifying risks and driving mitigation strategies.
  • Champion DevOps CI/CD infrastructure-as-code and observability best practices.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers raising technical capability and engineering maturity across the organization.
The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering or a related technical degree.
  • 12 years of progressive software engineering experience.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience with C# / .NET Core.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing and delivering large-scale full stack applications.
  • Deep experience building and operating cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong background in distributed systems microservices RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience integrating cloud applications with IoT systems and connected devices.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and projects.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree preferred.

Pay range for this opportunity is$124737.50 - $154087.50. This position is also eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors including but not limited to local labor market costs years of relevant experience education professional certifications foreign language fluency etc.
