H2M architects engineers a multidiscipline architectural engineering environmental consulting firm in Melville NY seeks a full-time staff scientist In this role you will be responsible for sampling testing and inspections for asbestos surveys water and mold damage assessments reviewing and understanding site plans completing asbestos and mold inspections for insurance companies private industries and school districts. Assistance with other environmental hazard surveys such as lead and indoor air quality Responsibilities:Perform asbestosand/or moldsurveys on residential and commercial asbestos project monitoring and air sampling including compliance with on-site field protocols such as chain of custody forms and daily tabulation analysis review/ evaluation and report with lead andotherindoor air quality clear instructions and communicate project updates and/or relevant information with project team and with to work as part of a team and collaborate experiencedealing with contractors and ensuring compliance with state and city agencies a and Qualifications:Bachelors Degree requiredwith a focusin Environmental Science or related disciplinedesired.0 to 4years of experience in the environmental consulting field specifically industrial following current certifications are preferred and will be taken into consideration in conjunction with relevant professional experience:Asbestos Certifications (NYS DOL)Asbestos InspectorAsbestos Air Sampling TechnicianAsbestos Project MonitorAsbestos Project DesignerAsbestos Certifications (NYC DEP)Asbestos InvestigatorMold Certifications (NYS DOL)Mold AssessorLead Certifications (USEPA)Lead Based Paint InspectorLead Based Paint Risk AssessorIICRC certifications a plusStrong technical skills including field expertise and knowledge of architectural oral and written communication ability to work independently with minimal in Microsoft part of your role you may be required to work in environments where the use of a respirator is such cases H2M will provide appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations. Therefore you will be required to participate in any necessary respirator fit testing training and medical evaluations in accordance with OSHA standards and company is required for this position and you may be required to use your own vehicle for work related travel including travel to and from job sites if an H2M vehicle is not available.
