Northside Hospital Forsyths Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a 16-bed adult specialty unit that serves as an extension of critical care providing advanced monitoring and specialized nursing care for patients who require a higher level of support than a traditional acute care setting. Nurses in the IMCU work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians nurses and support staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes while prioritizing patient comfort safety and well-being. The unit offers a fast-paced collaborative environment where teamwork compassion and evidence-based practice are at the center of care. Team members are encouraged to pursue professional growth through ongoing education specialty certifications and critical care-focused development opportunities making the IMCU an ideal setting for nurses looking to expand their clinical expertise and advance their careers.

Responsibilities

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  3. Must hold Certified in American Heart Associations Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  1. BSN degree
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  3. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS PALS NRP etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  4. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
