The Media Applications Engineering team within MGCT builds the system-level media user experiences across Apples platforms - including system media playback UIs media applications and frameworks such as AVKit. Our frameworks and APIs provide the building blocks for developing rich media user experiences across Apples ecosystem powering capabilities such as media playback editing routing capture and system media UX integrations in apps like Safari TV Photos Music FaceTime and iMovie as well as many third-party applications across all of Apples are looking for a Staff Engineer with a strong technical background excellent communication and leadership skills and deep experience in the media framework development API design and UI engineering domains to help us build the next generation of media experiences across Apples products.n

The Media Applications Engineering team is looking for a talented and motivated engineer to help lead the design and implementation of the AVKit framework system media UX and media application APIs across Apples products. You will work cross-functionally with a wide range of design and engineering teams to develop new features and APIs for adoption by Apple teams internally and third-party developers alike. You will take technical ownership across key areas of the teams work collaborating closely with engineering and the design teams to deliver polished high-quality system media experiences that reach billions of customers across all Apple platforms.

Lead and define the teams technical direction framework architecture and API designnCollaborate with engineering design and partner teams across Apple to align on requirements and deliver incredible products and experiences for our usersnParticipate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain system health and qualitynTriage and resolve bugs across the teams frameworks and systemsnDrive improvements to media playback UI performance framework reliability and developer experiencenAdopt and integrate new platform capabilities into the teams frameworks and UIsn

10 years of programming experience preferably in Swift Objective-C or CnExcellent communication and collaboration skillsnDemonstrated Technical or managerial leadership experiencenStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsnBS or MS in CS/CE or equivalent practical experiencen

Deep knowledge of Operating System design and conceptsnProficiency developing with SwiftUI Cocoa or other application frameworksnExpertise in triaging and resolving complex understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers
