Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time role based in Graham NC with flexibility for some work from home. The Staff Accountant will support tax preparation and planning activities including individual and business returns under the guidance of senior team members. Daily responsibilities also include reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations. The role involves collaborating with colleagues communicating with clients in a professional manner and using accounting software to deliver accurate timely work.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong accounting fundamentals including knowledge of GAAP general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
- Candidates should possess tax-related skills such as basic tax return preparation awareness of individual and business tax concepts and interest in tax planning.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and office tools such as Excel cloud-based accounting platforms and document management systems.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills including attention to detail ability to reconcile accounts and capacity to interpret financial data.
- Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills including clear written and verbal communication client service orientation and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred; progress toward CPA licensure or prior public accounting experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards in all professional activities.
