Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is to monitor control and audit all financial transactions and to perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management record keeping reporting and financial analysis of the facility. Also supervising admin and accounting volunteer staff.
This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00 - $28.00

The Pueblo Convention Center presents 47000 square feet of event space featuring premium ballrooms a spacious multi-function exhibit hall inviting meeting rooms and a pre-function lounge. The facility features a 17507 square foot exhibition hall as well as a 16200 square foot ballroom. There are 5 breakout rooms with nearly 3000 square feet of space plus a 3000-square-foot pavilion and 5000 square feet of indoor prefunction space.
Pueblo Memorial Hall is a vibrant cultural hub located in the heart of downtown Pueblo Colorado. Dedicated in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson Memorial Hall has served Southern Colorado for more than 100 years with a mission to inspire educate and connect audiences. Pueblo Memorial Hall completed a full remodel in 2012 and brings a variety of ambitious programming to the region including concerts film screenings theater productions family shows comedy shows graduations and dance recitals.
The Pueblo Convention Center and Pueblo Memorial Hall are professionally managed by Oak View Group. - Process and prepare accounts payable invoices.
- Verify & post entries to general ledger accounts; run trial balances
- Detail processing for accounts receivable and collection calls for outstanding payments.
- Process box office ticket reports and record transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Handle payroll processing and onsite Human Resource functions.
- Prepare audit work papers and perform analysis of accounts.
- Count and verify cash from bars & concessions and record transactions into the accounting system.
- Prepare cash bags for next event.
- Assist with employee record maintenance.
- Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions.
- Operate a ten-key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting finance business administration or a closely related field.
- 1 year of professional accounting experience is required preferably including some supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in the building management industry is preferred but not required.
- Must be accurate and efficient with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in cash handling.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Capable of working with all levels of management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word Excel and Outlook is required.
- Knowledge of NetSuite and Coupa preferred.
