Staff Accountant

Commercial Asphalt Supply is seeking a motivatedStaff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position offers exposure to all aspects of accounting and finance within a growing family-owned company. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented enjoys solving problems and is looking for an opportunity to build a long-term career in private industry.

Responsibilities

The focus of this role is on being a well-rounded accounting professional who supports a variety of accounting and financial functions including:

• Maintain and analyze inventory and production costing.
• Verify record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare and post accurate general ledger journal entries.
• Assist with monthly quarterly and year-end financial close processes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reporting.
• Analyze financial data and prepare ad hoc reports for management.
• Collaborate with operations plant personnel and management to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting forecasting and other special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables XLOOKUP and other advanced functions; Power Query or VBA experience is a plus).
• Self-motivated organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Experience with Foundation Software HeavyBid or similar ERP/accounting software is a plus.
