The Staff Accountant I assists in the monthly processing of journal entries month-end close account reconciliations filings with government agencies and preparation of financial statements. This position compiles financial data to aid senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets profit and loss (P&L) statements and other financial reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

General Ledger Accounting 100%

  • Performs daily journal entries
  • Ensures accurate and timely GL entries to process the month-end close
  • Performs account reconciliations to support accurate bookeeping
  • Prepares financial statements
  • Completes and submits government filings
  • Responds to financial questions from internal customers
  • Researches issues and troubleshoots for potential solutions
  • Performs third-party fee management includng reconciliation processing accruing and remitting payment

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required
  • 1 year(s) of general ledger accounting experience preferred
