How You Will Make An Impact

Perform structural and geotechnical analysis design and documentation for projects involving interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include research system selection analysis and preparation of drawings and specifications in compliance with industry standards.

Develop or review project-specific design and calculation packages including construction cost estimates.

Supervise or perform monitoring of construction operations including structural rehabilitation and earthwork / excavation support installations and preparing engineering field reports. Coordinate construction quality control services conduct periodic site visits and review daily field reports prepared by others.

Prepare technical proposals and fee estimates.

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (emphasis on Structural or Geotechnical Engineering) from a 4-year accredited college or university. Masters degree related to Structural or Geotechnical Engineering is desirable.

Professional registration required.

Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience in Structural Engineering or Geo-Structural Engineering.

Experience in project planning budgeting and task management to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Extensive background in structural engineering with specialized experience in bridge design structural analysis and bridge rehabilitation for transportation infrastructure in Michigan. Strong knowledge and understanding of structural engineering principles structural and geotechnical design principles and applicable codes and standards. Experience in soil-structure interaction and in conducting structural and geotechnical analysis and design calculations for aboveground and underground structures.

Experience with analysis and design of dams and shoreline structures is desirable.

Proficient in using structural and geotechnical analysis/design software(s).

Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering evaluation reports specifications and drawings.

Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Must hold a valid drivers license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
