We are looking for a Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our team in one of todays most exciting role willreport to the Sr. Manager Mechanical Design Engineering and will be based in San Jose CA.This is a fully on-site in officerole5 days a week.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design & develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles.
- Utilize project management skills to track projects through all phases of design to production.
- Support design decisions with analysis and calculations as required.
- Develop DFMEA and PFMEAs for products and solutions to minimize project risks.
- Participate in peer-to-peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to colleagues.
- Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models drawings and assemblies.
- Manage top level assemblies in a PDM system environment.
- Control drawing and model releases through the change control process.
- Communicate with suppliers on a technical basis to ensure a quality product.
- Coordinate with manufacturing operations to develop and implement DFM and cost reduction design actions.
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
- Ensure resulting design drawings/documents meet all Building Construction and Mechanical code requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring the design conforms to specifications required for the implementation of Bloom Energy fuel cell systems.
Education Skills and Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience.
- High level of accountability proactive and persistent with the skills and disposition to take a project from beginning to end.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter and desire to learn new things.
- An entrepreneurial spirit is essential.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple project and priorities.
- Professional & collaborative comfortable working closely with a team.
- Excellent SolidWorks CAD knowledge.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting of mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
- Ability to use engineering analysis tools (FEA Thermo CFD etc.) for design validation.
- Experience working in manufacturing construction and/or facility maintenance as it related to mechanical assemblies is desired.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
