Summary
The Senior Specialist Telecom Practice Group working in collaboration with and in support of the firms strategic initiatives plays a central role in organizing managing and extracting insights from large complex bodies of regulatory and commercial materials gathered from jurisdictions around the world. The Sr Specialist designs and maintains AI-assisted databases and knowledge management systems leverages AI tools particularly Harvey and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate research and analysis and automate workflows to enhance the efficiency and quality of the practice groups work product. This individual thrives at the intersection of law technology and data and wants to help shape the future of legal service delivery.
Location
This position can sit in our New York Washington DC or Boston office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Knowledge Management & Information Architecture
Organize catalog and maintain large complex bodies of telecom regulatory and commercial survey materials gathered from multiple jurisdictions worldwide ensuring materials are structured for efficient retrieval and analysis.
Design build and continuously improve AI-assisted databases and knowledge management systems that enable attorneys and practice group members to readily extract insights from high-volume survey materials.
Develop and maintain standardized taxonomies tagging systems and information architectures to support the practice groups expanding portfolio of multi-jurisdictional regulatory and transactional work.
AI-Driven Research & Analysis
Use AI tools particularly Harvey and Microsoft Copilot to analyze regulatory and commercial materials generate insights identify trends and support attorney work product across a wide range of telecom matters.
Leverage AI capabilities to synthesize complex regulatory and commercial information from multiple jurisdictions into clear actionable summaries comparative analyses and reports.
Stay current on emerging AI tools features and best practices and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the practice groups use of technology.
Workflow Automation & Efficiency
Identify design and implement automated workflows using AI and productivity tools (including Microsoft 365 Harvey Copilot and other available platforms) to streamline administrative research and document management processes.
Develop templates macros and automated processes for recurring tasks such as regulatory filings survey compilation data extraction and report generation.
Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to continuously improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort across the practice group.
Practice Group Support
Provide comprehensive administrative research and operational support to the Telecom practice group including preparing reports analyses and multi-jurisdictional surveys.
Create edit and maintain documents spreadsheets presentations and other work product as required.
Assist with document management systems including updating organizing and collating documents brochures and other materials.
Attend and participate in team meetings to stay informed of practice group objectives recent developments and upcoming projects.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients attorneys business professionals and third parties.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Desired Skills
Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools in a professional setting with specific experience using Harvey and/or Microsoft Copilot strongly preferred. Interest in and aptitude for emerging legal technology AI and innovation in legal service delivery. Proven ability to design build and manage databases knowledge management systems or structured information repositories. Strong information architecture skills including experience developing taxonomies tagging systems and organizational frameworks for large document sets. Ability to synthesize complex regulatory and commercial materials from multiple jurisdictions into clear organized and actionable formats.
Experience automating workflows using AI tools Microsoft 365 (including advanced Excel Power Automate SharePoint or similar) or other productivity platforms. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint and SharePoint. Excellent analytical written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce timely accurate and high-quality work product. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively fostering positive working relationships across a distributed team.
Experience with telecom regulatory matters or familiarity with telecom and satellite engineering is helpful but not required. Familiarity with legal technology platforms and document management systems is preferred.
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree in Information Science Data Management Technology or a related field.
Preferred Education
Masters Degree in Information Science Data Analytics or a related discipline.
Minimum Years of Experience
4 years experience in a law firm professional services environment legislative setting federal agency or corporate legal department with substantial exposure to telecommunications regulatory or technology-related matters.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Work Environment
The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firms discretion in the future.

The firms expected hiring range for this position is $110866 - $153178 per year depending on the candidates geographic market location.
The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidates experience skills educational and professional background and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k).
