Sr. Mechanical Engineer

ONSITE in Berkeley CA

• Strong mechanical product-development background with cost-reduction and DFM leadership.
• Advanced SolidWorks capability for parts assemblies drawings configurations and design changes.
• Structures sheet metal welded assemblies piping fittings plastics tolerance analysis and mechanical interfaces.
• Ability to combine CAD CAE results supplier feedback validation planning and cost data into design decisions.

• Lead mechanical work packages and allocate activities across the mechanical team.
• Develop and review redesign concepts for pack structures roof/base skid cell hardware piping fittings scrubber vessel and sustaining issues.
• Drive design reviews problem resolution supplier DFM discussions and cross-functional decisions.
• Ensure designs maintain critical interfaces and backward compatibility where required.
• Review CAD drawings GD&T tolerance analyses BOMs cost estimates and validation plans.
• Coordinate FEA CFD plastics materials electrical manufacturing and sourcing inputs.

• 7 years of mechanical product-development experience including technical ownership of complex assemblies.
• Experience in product design from concept through detailed design verification release and production support.
• Working knowledge of GD&T tolerance analysis DFM/DFA DFMEA and engineering change control.
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs risks and recommendations across design manufacturing analysis suppliers and customers.
• Advanced SolidWorks; experience with PLM/PDM and formal release processes.
• Demonstrated cost-reduction supplier collaboration and technical-leadership experience.

Salary Range: $120000-$140000/K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including but not limited to location the candidates combination of job-related knowledge qualifications skills education training and experience
