Purpose and Scope:
This is a part-time and temporary position not to exceed 28 hours per week. The employee will act as a mentor resource and coach new managers and hires within Quality and Manufacturing Organizations. Lead and support quality project initiatives and assist in rotation or high-profile heats. Ideal candidate brings deep expertise in audit standards during production and experience in quality related capital projects.
Responsibilities include:
Act as a mentor resource and coach within Quality and Manufacturing organizations.
Train and mentor new hires managers and operators regarding quality standards and practices such as EAF refining and solidification.
Assist in quality project initiatives
Assist in rotation for high profile heats
Apply technology to caster release processes and act as lead for quality needs
Audit standards during production to redefine best practices.
Assist in potential capital project work for quality perspective.
Minimum Qualifications:
20 years of experience in Quality and Metallurgy in a steel manufacturing environment
Expert knowledge of steelmaking process and process improvement
