Position Summary:

This roleis responsibleforinternal and externalcommunicationsfor McKessonsNorth AmericanPharmaceutical Services (NAPS)Oncology &Multispecialtybusinesses.Theidealcandidatehas aproventrack recordof achievement in a highly matrixed organization andexcelsat building andinfluencingstrong crossfunctional relationships. This role also requires the ability toleverageAI-powered tools and workflows to enhance employee experience accelerate execution and deliver impactful messaging aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute public relations strategiesand planssupporting key business priorities while advancingthe broaderOncology &Multispecialty vision and the McKessonenterprise vision including the use of AI-driven insights to refine message positioning and strengthen storytelling.

  • Supervise external consultants vendorsand agency resourcesas necessary andappropriate.

  • Collaborate closely with functions such as marketing public affairs legaland others to shape and optimize plans and execution.

  • Amplify our differentiated capabilities and solutions inearnedmedia coverageand acrosspaid earned and owned channels.

  • Inclusive of speaking opportunities bylines social media newsletters website content etc.

  • Ust strategically use AI-powered drafting and editing tools (Microsoft Copilot) to scale content production without sacrificing quality.

  • Conduct proactive and responsive media relations including relationship management with key beat reporters and use of AI tools tomonitorsentiment trends andtimelyopportunities.

  • Protect brand equity and customer loyalty through issues management.

  • Activateathoughtleadership engineon topics wherethe organizationisuniquely poisedto deliver.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of internal forums such as town halls and sales conferences.

  • Manage executive communications for key business leaders.

  • Lead change communications supporting organizationsbusiness needs.

  • Leverage internal channels to strategically connect employeestoNAPSkey imperatives and goals.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs colleagues to strengthen functional capabilities including identifying opportunities to automate routine tasks design AI workflows and deploy Copilot agents that enhance productivity and scale communications processes.

Expertise/Capabilities should include:

  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational communications media relations change communications issues management as well asdata and milestone communications with the ability to use AI-enhanced tools to elevate precisionclarityand impactincludingproficiencywith AI-powered drafting and contentdevelopment platforms(Microsoft Copilot).

  • Exceptional writing and editingskills.

  • Deepexpertiseworking in healthcare media.

  • Strong relationship-building skills problem-solving abilities and comfort negotiating solutions across competing interests.

  • Executive presence and experience working in a counselorcapacitywith senior leaders supported by the ability to use AI technologies to prepare briefsinsightsand executive messaging efficiently.

  • Outstanding judgementmulti-taskingabilityandstrong prioritization skills in afast-paced environment constantly striving for excellence.

  • Self-startermentality with the ability to learn quickly and adopt new tools to enhance communications outcomes.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability toanticipatecompany and team needs.

  • Ability to manage projects andshiftingpriorities multitaskeffectivelyand meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to travel -30%

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education/Training-

  • 4-year degree in Marketing Business Communications Journalism English or relevant field

Required Business Experience:

  • 9 years of internal executive and/or external communications or related experience

  • Healthcare communications experience mandatory

Minimum Education & Typical Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Degree or equivalent andtypically requires 7 years ofrelevant experience.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKessons pay philosophy and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
