Job Summary:
- Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
- Provide guidance and leadership in the development and documentation of internal controls processes and procedures.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring all financial data is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Review journal entries monthly reconciliations and month-end close deliverables with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure adherence to government contract accounting standards and requirements including revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and support financial initiatives.
- Mentor coach and develop staff to perform tasks with a focus on the big picture.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex financial concepts to finance and non-finance leaders.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to delegate or complete tasks effectively.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in leading teams guiding and directing resources planning forecasting scheduling activities as needed.
- Ability to track and adapt to competing priorities and changing requirements in the aerospace and defense accounting environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 5 years experience in SAP with an understanding of costs and revenues for an array of contractual programs in a complex manufacturing/logistics environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
- CPA
- Relevant experience in government contract accounting and ASC 606
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
