Job Summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Sr Import/Export Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will manage HTS and ECCN classification qualify goods under FTAs such as USMCA and GSP and ensure compliance with EAR and ITAR export control requirements. You will respond to CBP inquiries (CF-28/CF-29) conduct import audits for duty recovery opportunities and oversee ACE portal management and denied party screening. This role works cross-functionally with Supply Chain Finance and Engineering to align trade compliance processes across the organization.

Work Location: This position is ideally based within commuting distance of our Irvine CA office and follows a hybrid work schedule. We will also consider highly qualified remote candidates whose skills and experience closely align with the requirements of the role.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Assist with import and export related operational tasks and special projects as needed. Responsibilities include global Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification export license management.
  • Work with engineering and other key stakeholders to understand technical requirements to assure appropriate HTS classifications.
  • Review product documents diagrams and specs for HTS and preferential trade qualifications (USMCA KORUS ILFTA etc.)
  • Respond to requests for trade compliance support and information. Including requests from Customs or other partnership agencies.
  • Provide data analysis to improve the integrity and efficiency of MKS global trade compliance program. Including analyzing and auditing trade data to accuracy and potential duty recoveries.
  • Ensure global compliance programs support MKS global trade compliance policies.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10 % of Travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

  • A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in export and import operations.
  • 5 years of experience trade compliance or related field
  • Classifying Harmonized System codes accurately.
  • Qualifying goods for preferential trade agreements.
  • Responding to Customs inquiries (CF28 CF29).
  • Analyzing and auditing import trade data for accuracy and duty recoveries.
  • Customs Brokers License a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range:$.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position based on a wide range of factors including qualifications experience and training operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus:This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in an amount to be determined by MKS or as applicable.
