Sr HSE Engineer

Job Summary

You will provide leadership and oversight to the Health Safety Environment (HSE) functions activities and performance for the HSE culture establishing strong working relationships with site leadership team and the employees. You will report directly to the Sr HSE Manager - Americas. You will be a key leader managing sustainable health and safety programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes. You will ensure Honeywell stays in front of leading practices in health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- - Ensure Compliance with Honeywell corporate requirements SBU/SBG programs and local legislation (tracks changes reviews/modifies local procedures to comply).
- - Conduct thorough incident investigations (5-why Why Tree Tap Root etc.) identify correct root causes (including systemic) and ensure respective corrective actions address them and prevent reoccurrences.
- - Represents HPS business within own jurisdiction in current SBU/SBG hierarchy. Cooperates with regional HSE structures as well as internal customers for respective businesses.
- - Maintain/improve countrys HSE Management System performance and maturity.
- - Establish relationships and processes with HPS business managers Site leadership team and Regional HSE leaders to influence all employees to meet HSE goals and objectives and Standard Work activities as per roles and responsibilities within the organization under jurisdiction.
- - Work with the respective HSE team to identify actions required to certify / maintain HSE Certification to ISO 45001 ISO 14001 etc.
- Facilitate a change in Honeywell culture toward a safe working environment by enhancing the knowledge skills and attitudes of Honeywell employees and sub-contractors
- - Ensures desired performance is achieved in the area of jurisdiction playbook (HPS) activities are followed by Honeywell employees. Addresses and/or escalate deviations if necessary.
- - Audit Honeywell managed facilities to ensure we are compliant with statutory and corporate requirements and working to approved risk management plans. (Including Fire testing regulations Radiation Devices Licenses waste management Lift inspections as per manufactures recommendation etc.)
- - Manage project safety audits for compliance and review contractors qualifications.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- - Bachelors in engineering (electrical chemical mechanical environmental etc.)
- - 6 years of working experience in the health safety and environmental field.
- - 1 years of experience coordinating internal audits and implementing HSE management systems.
- - Up to 25% travel (to customer sites and projects in the US)
WE VALUE
- - 10 years of working experience in the health safety and environmental field.
- - Safety Professional Certificates (CSP ASP CIH etc.)
- - Working experience with service facilities maintenance or construction industries.
- - Strong influencing and negotiating skills ability to motivate build high performance cross-functional teams and the capacity to lead a wide geographically dispersed organization.
- - Knowledge and experience with Workers Compensation incident case management.
- - HSE Technical writing skills are desired.
- - Strong computer and Microsoft office usage and organizational skills required.
- - Creates and manages change through continuous exploration and learning.
- - Strategy and execution skills with ability to operate strategically tactically and operationally.
- - Conflict resolution skills.
- - Flexibility and resilience including ability to adapt to changing/uncertain conditions.
- - Working experience with Project Management and interacting with Customers and Contractors.
- - Knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles are desired.
- - Sense of urgency and organizational skills are required.
