Senior Heat Transfer/Design Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform thermal and mechanical design of new heat transfer products

Prepare cost estimates and project plans for new products

Create models drawings and bills of material for heat exchanger components and assemblies

Perform mechanical design calculations for pressure vessels and support structures

Manage prototype projects from initial concept to final product shipment

Prepare test plans and supervise testing of new products

Create manufacturing instructions for new products

Investigate issues and develop and implement solutions for problems arising during the manufacture of new products

Education Required: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Masters Degree desired.

Experience Required:

• Knowledge of vacuum brazing - 3-5 years minimum
• Heat Transfer - 3-5 years minimum
• Solid modeling - 3-5 years minimum
• Heat exchanger design experience; preferably with plate and fin heat exchangers -3-5 years minimum
• Project management experience - 3-5 years minimum
• Microsoft Office and Windows (high) - 3-5 years minimum
• Experience in a fabricated metal product manufacturing environment (hands-on a plus)

Additional Experience Desired and Valued:

• High temperature brazing experience - 3-5 years minimum
• Supervisory experience - 1-2 years minimum
• Solidworks design software capability - 1-2 years minimum
• Design Engineering in a fabricated metal product manufacturing environment - 3-5 years minimum
• Shop floor interface experience - 1-2 years minimum
• Product testing experience - 1-2 years minimum
• Design for manufacturability - 1-2 years minimum
