K2 is seeking an experiencedSenior Financial Analyst to support our clinics out of Orlando (Maitland) FLin a full-time capacity.
While working in close partnership with our VP FP&A & Financial Analyst the Senior Financial Analyst owns the interpretation communication and decision-support layer of the finance function. This role is responsible for translating financial data into actionable insights leading budgeting and forecasting processes and serving as a trusted financial advisor to management and cross-functional leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:Lead the budgeting forecasting and long-term financial planning process for assigned studies and clinics. Review and interpret financial models and outputs prepared by the Financial Analyst adding strategic context and recommendations. Conduct in-depth variance analysis profitability assessments and study performance reviews presenting findings and recommendations directly to management. Serve as the financial expert on all assigned studies from start to finish ensuring financial integrity throughout the study lifecycle in alignment with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Strategic Insight and Decision Support:Translate complex financial data into clear concise narratives and recommendations for executive and operational leadership. Monitor industry trends and assess their impact on company financial performance proactively surfacing risks and opportunities. Partner with management to evaluate new business initiatives site expansions and strategic investments from a financial perspective. Support the development and implementation of improved financial processes systems and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:Serve as the senior financial point of contact for clinical operations business development and executive leadership. Collaborate with the Financial Analyst and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment between operational activity and financial reporting. Assist with month-end financial statement preparation and analysis with a focus on review interpretation and escalation of material items. Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support the development of finance-specific SOPs as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to connect operational activity to financial outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic business-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Proficiency in Power BI SQL and financial software is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare clinical research or medical research is strongly preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Required:Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis corporate finance or a related field.
- Preferred:Experience in a healthcare CRO or life sciences environment.Prior experience mentoring or coordinating work with junior finance team members.CFA CPA or MBA is a plus.
