The Sr Engineering Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support for engineering and logistical operations through the setup maintenance troubleshooting and optimization of complex technical systems and equipment with specialized expertise in RF repair and diagnostics. Serves as a senior-level hands-on resource working closely with engineers operations and staff to ensure reliable machinery performance efficient handling of technical components and compliance with safety and operational standards. May provide guidance and technical assistance to Engineering Technicians while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and resolving escalated equipment or process issues.
1st Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced setup maintenance troubleshooting and repair of engineering equipment warehouse systems machinery and automated/robotic technologies to support operational efficiency and uptime.
- Provide senior-level technical support for warehouse operations by overseeing the proper handling storage movement and utilization of technical components products tools and equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections diagnostics preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on mechanical electrical conveyor automated and robotic systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Support the development and revision of technical procedures work instructions maintenance documentation and operational guidelines for warehouse systems and equipment.
- Provide technical guidance training and day-to-day support to Engineering Technicians and other operational personnel as needed.
- Assist in identifying root causes of equipment or process failures and participate in continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
- Support cross-functional engineering and logistics projects while maintaining productivity quality and service expectations in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities repairs and equipment statuses.
- Assist with creating technical documentation for warehouse systems and machinery.
- Comply with quality performance standards.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
- All other duties assigned based on the business the warehouse supports.
RF Repair Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and repairing RF radio equipment and RF circuit boards.
- Setting up and operating RF test equipment.
- Reducing WIP through efficient board repair.
- Communicating troubleshooting findings and failure trends to RF Engineers.
- RF-specific troubleshooting and repair duties.
- RF test equipment operation (spectrum analyzers signal generators etc.).
- Communication/reporting responsibilities with RF Engineering.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience supporting electrical mechanical automated or robotic systems within an engineering manufacturing logistics or warehouse environment.
- Advanced working knowledge of tools equipment mechanical systems automation technologies and technical processes with the ability to independently perform diagnostics repairs and system optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes resolve complex technical issues and minimize operational downtime.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify equipment process or safety concerns and implement corrective or preventive actions before issues escalate.
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems technologies equipment and operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while effectively balancing operational demands and cross-functional project support.
- Comfortable working autonomously and in a team environment.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy quality and thorough task completion.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Ability to provide technical guidance mentorship and day-to-day support to junior technicians and operational staff as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution manufacturing technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principle.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Technical or Vocational Certification in a related field.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment.
- The ability to lift push and/or pull up to 50 lbs. if necessary.
- The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time if necessary.
- The ability to bend push pull twist and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity if necessary.
