Sr. Engineer Mechanical

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Specialist on Power and Energy and Chemical Industry Projects.
• Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status issues and needs.
• Specify evaluate bids and perform vendor document review for process equipment such as pressure vessels tanks pumps and heat exchangers.
• Perform calculations for equipment and piping.
• Specify Materials for process and utility piping services.
• Attend client vendor and internal team project meetings.
• Perform field surveys to collect required field data and assist with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications in the field.
• Capable of supervising coordinating and reviewing work of a small staff of engineers to accomplish objectives.
• Mentors younger engineers leading by example. Supports department development initiatives and standards creation/review/update.
• Evaluates selects and applies standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Estimate resource requirements of new project proposals in support of business development.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 15 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Power Refining or Chemical Industries.
• Experience applying standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to ensure compliance with design basis and safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required for coordination with internal team members as well as Vendors and Clients.
• Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
• Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
• Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional Engineers License

Salary/Pay Rate:

In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act the expected salary range for this Illinois positionSenior Engineer Mechanicalis between $148000.00 and $211827.20 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience geographic location and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
