Job Summary

The ECI Group has an immediate need for an contractSenior Instrumentation / Electrical Designerin our Baton Rouge office to support ongoing electrical instrumentation and control designs for our petrochemical business lines.

Note: This is a 8 month 1099 contract position with an estimated start date in July 2026 thru March 2027. No sponsorship provided.

YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY:
Essential Functions:
Responsible for planning scheduling conducting and coordinating the technical and management interface on assigned projects.

Manages necessary resources for execution scattered across multiple remote sites with different time zones.
Lead a team of designers and drafters on the project.
Generates design and detail drawings including schematics wiring installation details plans/sections.
Interprets area classification drawings and develop area classification details
Interacts with Clients to convey project design and identify scope changes that will affect project schedule or client budgets.
Interacts with the lead engineer on the project and other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Reviews project/discipline deliverables for compliance with industry accepted design principles company standards and customer contract specifications.
Attend regular project update meetings with the lead engineer and the client.

Skills and Qualifications:

10 years design experience
Associate Degree in a technical discipline preferred
AutoCAD Certificate or minimum of 5 years proven AutoCAD experience
Proficient in basic computer functions required to perform AutoCAD 2-D AutoCAD 3-D Raster and MicroStation a plus.
Proficient in standard drafting techniques and in field investigations and measurements
Knowledge of Codes and Standards
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
TWIC card requirement.

Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays weekends and/or holidays
The job may be performed at the Clients production facility or industrial/construction job site and could last for extended periods of time
In some cases the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures
May require extended overnight travel to another client location/facility or the home office
Conditions will vary at each location but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
